7/5 LAYER BARRIER

The growing requirements of the packaging industry have driven the development of barrier films, from the early, simple PA/PE structures, to the introduction of EVOH and the use of both symmetrical and asymmetrical complex structures.

 

7 layer blown film line is equipped with state-of-the-art Cylindrical Spiral Die. Short polymer flow passages decrease residence time which is of great benefit when processing thermally sensitive materials, reduces polymer degradation and quick changeover of the materials.

 

7 layer blown film lines are customized based on films to be produced. 7 layer blown film lines are available with advanced automation features like gravimetric blending and dosing, extrusion Control, non-contact type IBC system, automatic thickness control (with non-contact capacitive sensor), fully automatic surface winder suitable for different applications. Integrated touch screen based supervisory process control is provided thus rendering it operator friendly.

Applications of 7 layer blown film

The range of applications include films for long shelf life packaging of edible oils, UHT milk, liquid and solid container liners, frozen food packaging, meat packaging, vacuum packaging, barrier thermoformable film for trays, cups and lid etc.

To meet specific needs, all-PE 5 layer co-extruded blown film line benefitted with down gauging, lower cost of final film, adaptability across applications enhances the ROI still further.

 

This 5 layer line while ensuring a thin skin layer of property polymers and a thick core layer of inexpensive materials, offers enough versatility for processors to produce films that comply to difficult industry demands with specifications that provide a competitive edge to its customers' business, both in terms of diverse film properties and of course at lower costs. The film capabilities with a 5 layer are significant when compared to a conventional 3-layer alternative. 

Five layer POD have quickly become the answer to achieve the desired optical properties, printability and sealability by balancing the characteristics of the new resins which are being made available in the raw materials market.
